It’s a news comedy just like the Daily Show. It’s a good addition.
Good to see John Oliver after leaving the Daily Show.
It’s kind of scary seeing these “news” shows on these networks. It’s strange that you get more balanced news on the comedy central, than on news networks. Or that investigative journalist are leaving CNN to get hired by HBO.
Comedy Central is not really in the news business, it’s in the entertainment business, but The Daily Show did more meaningful coverage in a lot of areas of news than the other networks combined for more than a decade. The Colbert Report extended it on the Comedy Central. Even South Park picked up some serious real world problems. Real Time with Bill Maher on the HBO also deals with politics in a no BS way for some time now. HBO’s Newsroom is brilliant. And now Last Week Tonight…
